I think there is a missed scan so that the scanning is retrying. have you schedule a scan?

What is the administrator scan frequency  defined in the policy?

Can you upload the AV policy of the particular group and logs from the client system.

What you are asking for isn't really clear. Answer this question first: Do you have any scheduled scans right now? What happens if you have a scheduled scan and the computer is off when the scan is suppose to start then the next time the computer is on the scan will run. If that is the case there is the option to let your users delay the scan by so many hours.

I don't get what you mean by "option to cancel older scanning". This could mean scans that were missed or old scheduled scans you don't want anymore. Please be clearer.

    Cheers

Have you tried to disable the option on to run the scan on missed task? I suggest you disable this option so that the client will not scan again in random if it did not scan on its scan scheduled.

    Thanks.
