  • 1.  Scanning remote machines from SEPM does not show progress

I believe I am missing something and cannot find documentation on it either.  When initiating a scan from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on a client, the scan progress does not show up on the manager.  I have found how to either show or hide the progress on the client, but not on the manager.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance!

As per my Knowledge you cannot see the scan progress from the manager.

Was this functionality removed when the move was made from 10.x to 11.x?  I know you could do this in the old version of SAV.

Yeah, you can only see the progress are far as the total number of computers are concerned.  i.e. you have 20 computers you've told to scan, 60% are complete, 20% are in progress, and 20% failed to receive the command.

I guess what I am talking about is, if you suspect a certain computer has a virus, in version 10.x, you could initiate a scan from the SAV server and it would run in the background on the client.   The user did not know a scan was running unless they looked at the Task Manager.  You could see the scan progress running on the server.  I cannot figure out this functionality on the newer version of SEPM 11.0.5   I have figured out how to initiate the scan from the server and have also figured out how to show/not show the progress on the client, but not the server.

Go to Monitors--->issued commands .Here you can see the progress of the command(scan) you issued. Here there is an option for auto refresh also(refresh in every 30 sec etc.). In this screen it will give a brief information .Here you select your scan command and click details ,here also you can set auto refresh. Then it will tell you the status of each pc which you given scan(In progress, completed etc..). This the maximum you can see in SEPM console regarding progress of your scan command..
