if you are on verion 12.1 there will be NO RTVSCAN.exe its been replaced

ccsvchost takes care of everything now

check if this process is running to confirm that scan is running

What version are you on first of all?

On SEP 11.x, if you open the GUI, you will see a notice at the top right that a scan is running. Also, rtvscan will be utilising CPU.

On SEP 12.1, ccsvchst.exe will be utilising the CPU. Plus you can check the scan log, it will show that a scan has started and you will not see a completion time, which indicates it is ongoing.
