Scans never complete unless I smc -stop them on more n more servers running 12.1.6MP5. This occurred on about 3 of my 700 servers running the previous MP release, now seems to be about 10 times the number and growing every week. Has anyone else encountered this phenomena? Ideas on how to troubleshoot? Server OS is 2008/12R2. Thanks in advance.

Do you know if anything is being scanned? If you enabled VPDebug logging you should be able to see what is going on with scans in more detail

How to enable "Vpdebug Logging" on Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 and 12.1

Thanks Brian! I shouldhave added that the scan logs show 0 files scanned. After I smc -stop, kill all Symantec processes, then smc -start. It will complete a quick scan showing less than a 1000 files scanned successfully. This only happens on a Full scan, which I have scheduled to run Monday nights. I will look into Vpdebug after the holiday weekend. Have a great weekend yourself!
