Recently , i have installed a windows 2003 X64 Media server to the existing Solaris Master server 6.0 MP4.

After that , i found that the active backup schedule jobs , Hot catalog and Vaulting is not running as per start windows times.

So i have to manually trigger most of the backup jobs.

I have found that the article technote 285529 , that there is a issue on nbpem on 6.0MP3 .

Based on this Symantec Technote article 285529:-

http://support.veritas.com/docs/285529

i have also run the nbpemreq -tables screen to found that some of the backup active jobs next start job is starting on year 2038.

As mentioned on the technote.

Suggest update to latest 6.0 MP7

I would suggest you update to at least the 6.0 MP7. There was a lot of problems back in 6.0 and some in 6.5 around policy execution manager and crashing/coreing, but recommend you get your master upgraded to latest (last) Maintenance Pack for NBU 6.0, and then roll out updates to clients.

See link below for your downloads.

This article contains information about upgrade requirements and the entire listing for all NetBackup Server, NetBackup Enterprise Server download lists available for 6.x and 6.x.x, including NetBackup Agents and Options.

http://entsupport.symantec.com/docs/3152

Solaris 6.0 MP7 technote describes a lot of policy issues that are addressed either in MP7.

Tip: Get overview/document your NBU environment. Run 'nbsu' and review the output.

Straight to 6.5.5

If you are at 6.0 is because you can go to 6.5.5, there are tons of patches that can help you on the latest version of NBU.
