  • 1.  Scheduled Reports - Mail Server Properties

    Posted Mar 04, 2011 08:24 AM

I am having a devil of a time configuring our email server to work with Scheduled Reports in SEPM. I'm sure it's something simple, but I have tried the various possibilities that I could think of.

What exactly is it asking for under Server Properties for "SERVER2003"?

    Server Address:

    Port Number:

User Name: (tried both SEPM and domain admin names)

Password: (tried both SEPM and domain admin names)

Thanks in advance; any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Fred

It needs the name of your mail server as well as the port number, likely port 25

And depending on how you have your internal mail server configured (is it an open relay) you can add whatever email address you want. This is who the report is coming from (ex. SEPreport@yourdomain.com) and if it needs a password otherwise leave it blank.

its your email server ip and ID which has admin access

How do I setup email alerts in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM)?

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/2326c6a13572aeb788257363002b62aa/8cf31c11c88a96ce652574c00072b312?OpenDocument

    1. In the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console, click Admin.
    2. Click Server panel.
    3. Select the Management Server for which you wish to configure the email server and go to Edit Server Properties..
    4. In the Server Properties dialog box, click the Mail Server tab.
    5. Enter the Server Address, which would be an IP address, host name, or domain name of the email server.
    6. Enter the Port Number for the email server that sends the notifications.
    7. Enter the User name of the account on the email server. If you want to configure administrator email notifications, you should use the format user@domain in this text box. If the text box is left blank,SYSTEM@computer name sends the notifications.
    8. Enter a Password of the account on the email server. This field is mandatory if the email server requires authentication.
