Scheduled Scan taking days to complete

Windows server 2012 running SEP Version 12.1

I have been having issues with one of the servers which is consistently not updating and when i use the Symhelp tool i am being informed that defs are corrupt. I have recent noticed that every time this issue is persistent that the scheduled daily scan is actually running. I have checked the logs and noticed that sometimes this takes almost 5-6 days to complete and surely there is something not quite right?

Is there any suggestions why this scan takes so long? and why the defs are consistently corrupt?

How many files are being scanned and how big are they, many compressed files?

Virus defs are cleared when they come in, but it appears the issue is ever present that these defs become corrupt? Is there anything that springs to mind why defs are becoming corrupt daily/weekly.

And its DC and when a full scan occurs it will scan 82.8GB of C: Drive and 4.67TB of a data store

have you try to reinstall SEP client again ?

When you will be reinstall sep client please remove all SEP related folder and files.

Yes the process of removing SEP and related files has been done.

What Exact SEP version are you using ?

SEP 12.1.2 are first version which are support windows 2012

Seems you have 4.6 TB data , if files are going to modified then the file will be scanned again.

Scan takes time - have scheduled full scan or active scan?

Adjust the time as sumit G suggested.

Currently have sep version 12.1.4 installed and i will take a look at adjusting the scan times.

We have a default scan time for the full scan, which cannot be edited or viewed, can anyone inform/confirm where this can be done.

call support , get the tool to delete scans , run cleanwipe, install a fresh copy of SEp client.
