Scheduled Virus Scan Problems

Has anyone had issues with Scheduled Virus Scans such as this :
I have a scheduled scan set for every Friday at 12:00 Noon ( +- 2hrs ) On a couple of machines the scheduled Scans run 3 times daily . versions RU 5 & MR4 MP* are affected .
Anyone have any idea why this happens ?
