Scheduling Without Excludes

We are using 6.5. Many policices are set to run dily incrementals, weekly fulls and monthly fulls.  We run our monthly fulls on the last night of the month, so if a job starts between noon and midnight it will be scheduled to run on the last day of the month, if it starts between midnight and 8am it will be set to run a monthly full on the first day of the month.  The problem I run into is that apparently NB is not smart enough to figure out that a monthly job is scheduled so disregard the daily and weekly if they happen to be scheduled as well.  In most cases it will kick off a daily even if a monthly or weekly is scheduled, unless I set excludes.  That's beginning to get really old since we have over 200 policies.  Is there an easier way or am I missing something?

I don't think netbackup will let u do that kind of custom date. All we have here is days of every month. Our infra is set to kick in monthly backups 1st saturday of every month and my green mans can take as much time they want till Monday. In your case, u might need to manually mark those retentions. Personally I don't recommend to have the monthly backups undefined day. Why don't you consider in defining your monthly backups on a day where prod load is low.

Thanks, Karthikeyan Sundaram.

When do your backup windows open?

If they all open at the same time then NB *should* be "smart enough to figure out that a monthly job is scheduled so disregard the daily and weekly if they happen to be scheduled as well" (obviously as long as they're all in the same policy).
