Hello all,
A few days back while i as imaging a machine in Windows PE env, i need to take a screen shot of the screen. i search a lot on net for the tool which can do this. If anyone have come across the tool which can take screenshot the do share the information.
workaround is to use virual machine but its expensive.
I do not know of a way within
I do not know of a way within WinPE to be able to take a screen shot, but I believe Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 is a free product and that would let you take a screen shot of the screen you need.

Yep, use a virtual machine.
Yep, use a virtual machine.
Or if your WinPE environment
Or if your WinPE environment supports mapping a network drive, there are plenty of freeware screencapture tools out there you could use, then save the file to a USB drive (memory key or hard drive) or a network share. Again I haven't tried it myself, but I would think most of them would work (even Alt-PrintScreen then paste into some image editor). But, I also agree with Pikoshi or Brandon that capturing the screenshot from MS VPC would be the way to go. A lot of times I will use Snagit from my VM host machine and capture the screenshot inside the VM guest's console window.
Thanks,
Kyle

RE: Screenshot in WinPE environemt.
Copy mspaint.exe from a Vista box to the express share. IN winpe press the print screen key or alt-print screen then execute mspaint.exe paste your capture.
hope this works.

I can recommend to use
I can recommend to use lightscreen_portable edition. Its free and can be downloaded at http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/lightscreen...
That site also has many other portable programs that work under winPE
