Recently i noticed this weird behaviour : When we set additionnal msi options, they dissapear if we close the windows or copy/paste the task :

The msi installer windows, just after adding additionnal options:

    msi.jpg

The same windows immediately after reopening it. Notice the options are gone ! (MAGIC !)

You shouldn't need /qn if you've selected quiet mode. Are you selecting next and finish to close the box? Try the bottom box for options.

Hi Andy, thanks for getting back to us.

Yes we selected next and executed the task several times to deploy this software on several labs. The additional msi options should be there but they are gone. Monday we will see if the bottom field makes any difference.

Do the options get implemented when you run the MSI install however, or are they missing from the actual install?

Turn on verbose logging of MSI installs from the registry and then you can see all the property values set during the install.

Using the second field did the trick. For some reasons the first field would not retain informations.

I believe the first field is from the Deployment Server product that Ghost Solution Suite 3 is based on and was originally intended for options that were specific to Personality Transplant packages and Rapid Install packages created using the old Personality Transplant and RapidInstall packaging tools.
