SCSP Agent not install on SUSE 10
Updated: 14 Jan 2011 | 8 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I tried to install SCSP Agent Version 5.2.0.537 on SUSE 10 and then I receive the following error message.
Error: The size of the SCSP Agent RPM file in this installer does not match its original creation size or appers corrupt. This may be the result of a corrupt download or transfer of this installer. Please Verifiy the size and integrity and retry.
I get SHA1 Checksum of original installer and the file transfered, and then both files is same checksum.
Anyone know what is happening?

Old agent version
Fernando,
CSP 5.2.0 is almost 4 years old. Please use the newest 5.2.6 mp2 (maintenance pack2) for your SLES machine install. A reminder to always upgrade your manager/console first then the agent.
CSP 5.2.0 does not support the newest kernels and install packages found in the latest SLES10 service pack level.
Build 537 means you were on MP4 version of 5.2.0 which is a bit newer, however the latest agent should be used in SLES with SP2+.
Used Same Agent give CD
I'm using the agent who came on the installation CD.
The CD version of CSP is 5.2.6_MP2.
Install issues
Lets start with a uname -a on the box, obfuscate the machine name if you need to per your company's policies. Then, cat /etc/SuSE-release and post the results as well.
Next: is this happening on only one SLES 10 box or can you attempt the install on another SLES10 machine to see if you are getting the same error?
Output from command uname
Output from command uname -a
Linux srvlinux 2.6.16.60-0.54.5-default #1 Fri Sep 4 01:28:03 UTC 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Output of command cat /etc/SuSe-release
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (i586)
VERSION = 10
PATCHLEVEL = 3
I`ll try install Agent in another machine, and then post results.

Odd
Assuming you are installing the agent .bins that match the sles version (agent-linux-<SLESversion>.bin. Can you md5 hash the zip file that you have on disk to see if the hashes match what I have from the platinum site?
I.e md5 Symantec_Critical_System_Protection_Server_Edition_5.2.6_MP2_EN.zip
Hashes match.
