SCSP and SBESR
I am new at SCSP and still learning, so I need some help with and issue I having with a process that is running:
Issue:
Getting File Write Denied for VProSvc.exe on PhysicalDrive0 when the scheduled backup job kicks off
backgroud:
Built new policy from the default sym_win_protection_core_sbp policy, Applied to the machine.
Attempted:
added both the followin entry into policy under Interactive Program Options \ Alternate Privilege Lists \ Specify Interactive Programs with Full privileges \ List of Interactive Programs with Full privileges
"C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\Agent\VProSvc.exe"
and
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\Agent\VProSvc.exe
Goal:
Create a rule in the policy that will allow the exe to run on any drive (would like to to have one rule, not one for each drive as some servers have as many as 20 luns)
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,
First of all is it a Raw disk application?
If so than you need to add the application to the "Raw Disk" rule set which is in:
"Global Policy Options --> Additional Parameter Settings --> Allow specific programs to write to raw disks --> List of programs that can write to the raw disks"
If not then you can add it to the:
"Global Policy Options --> Host Security Programs --> Basic Options --> Additional Host Security programs installed --> List of other Host Security programs"
This second rule set will treat the application like a backup software or antivirus software which will give you much broader access to the system
Hope this helps.
