  • 1.  SD 7.1: Service Catalog Issues

    Posted Jun 21, 2011 09:19 AM

I have added several new catalog items to the standard Information Technology category in the service catalog. Under the "Submit Request" tab I can choose the category and see all of the items on the right. However, if I go to the "Tickets" tab (or any other with the Service Catalog web part" and click on the category, most of those same items are not there. I have verified permissions are right, I have restarted IIS and Server Extensions along with restarting the server and they still do not show up. I've tried 3 different browsers on 5 different machines. They were all there just yesterday. Does anyone have any other ideas on bringing them back? Can anyone tell me what controls these catalog items to show up or not?

Most all of the webpart are actaully locked down and managed by the LogicBase.Ensemble.WebParts.Default.dll. The base ServiceBased.ServiceCatalog call webpart (as far as I know) is one of them that is almost completly locked down. Some of the ones that are actually editable can not be changed much like the KB Articles. Now ServiceBased.ServiceCatalogFeaturedWebPart is the one that you can control by editing Service Catalog Settings in your Admin portal. One setback on that is it is locked to a 100% webpart page but that is soon to change (more to follow)!

    Hope that helped.

I had put in a ticket to Symantec and they came back with the same results after testing. Their suggestion was to replace that web part with the Forms Tree Viewer. This appears to function however now there are permission issues. A user who is part of Support I logs in and doesn't have permissions to view the categories when the permissions are set correctly in the Portal on the Service Catalog pages.

Is this another issue you are seeing or just an informational?

Just informational. I put the requested web part in place and that one gives the permissions error.
