  • 1.  SD7.1 SP2: Getting Cube reports to show up in a 'Cube Report Viewer Page'

    Posted Mar 14, 2012 04:43 PM

    Running SD 7.1 SP2:

I was able to get IT Analytics installed, (post initial installation since R&A were not installed on SQL at the time). I have installed the cubes and reports through SMP and created the Connection Context to point to the IT Analytics DB.  I am able to build a cube report in the reports section.  The first question is that when I begin to create the report, I get the OLAPDefault as the initial drop-down and the error of: "An equal sign was expected after index 0 in the connection string."  I can click the drop-down to select the Connection Context that I created and go on to pull the reports.

I can then go into one of our portal pages and add the webpart Cube Report Viewer, add that report, and then get the second error - same wording as the one when I begin to create the report.  Pics are below.

Looking for any ideas or suggestions?

    As Always, thanks.

P.S. - I have opened a support case with Symantec and am awaiting a call-back on this - will post resolution once I (hopefully) get one.

Apparently Support is telling me that Cube reporting is NOT supported in Servicedesk 7.1x nor WF 7.1x..  Their reply was that it is a solution that is supported off of SMP and the pieces that are in SD/WF7.1 are legacy pieces that are going to go away and are not supported.  They referenced this Tech article created from my ticket, http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH184062 which prompted more questions to them about it.  the reply was that even during the install, when asked for the Analysis and reporting server and DB name, it does not actually create the database.

The IT Analytics Servicedesk pack that is installed on SMP is supported on SMP, not ServiceDesk.

Most frustrating.  I can create the reports, but will have to let the users access them directly rather than posting them to a webpart.  If there are others that are currently using this in SD 7.1 SP2, please share how you were able to get them to pass to a webpart/page?

    thanks

Are the reports links? If so you can probably display them in an Iframe in the portal.
