First - Where does Symantec store a users vault in SQL?  And how does it store it?

Second - Is there a way I could query the database for a word or phrase?

EV doesn't store a users

EV doesn't store a users archive in SQL - the actual data is stored in partitions, NTFS, CIFS, Centera etc. Check the Vault Console under vault Stores partitions for the location.

You can query the EV indexes by one of the search tools, Search.asp, Outlook integrated search, Discovery Accelerator.

If you want to do it

If you want to do it "automatically", you may have to use the API.
There is an SDK you can request from Symantec.

Cheers
