Second management server
Hi to everyone.
I've installed SEPM MR3 (clean install) on two management servers (for failover - two different physical locations - over WAN link 4mbit ).
I chose to install an SQL Server 2005 Std on one of the two locations because I wanted one site but two management servers for failover reasons.
After many problems (not getting updates through isa server - not connecting to sql etc) I finaly managed to get it up and running-updating but with one problem.
The second management server on the main screen gives me a "Latest Symantec Version: Information is currently unavailable".
Although I have set up the first management server to download updates from symantec and its working the second server continously tries to update from the internet for which i have not set up anything because I want this to be done from the first server.
The questions are :
Doesnt the second server get the updates from the first? If yes how do i get the server to update?
If the server doesnt get the updates from the first then every management server on the same site downloads updates? (sounds a little silly)
Is there a problem that the second management server is connected to sql over wan ?(somebody said it is not recomended but cant find info anywhere)
Any help welcome
