    Hello,

I'v a problem since few weeks. Using Symantec Encryption Desktop for PGP encrypted volumes and mail.

One day, I found out that my private key was missing from my keyring. Looking at the secring.skr, was set to 0 byte. The -bak file

was also set to 0 bytes.

So, went to the restoration of my keyring, from the tape I've a secring.skr that is 22 685 bytes in size, so definitly not empty.

Each time I try to replace the keyring by the one I got from the tape, the sekring.skr always get wipped, resulting in a file of 0 bytes.

Tryed to uninstall the product, delete all PGP info from the document folder, copy my old keyring back to the document folder,

and again, secring.skr set back to 0.

Don't know what happened, had some windows crash previously, but even if that was the cause of zeroing my secring.skr, then

I should be able to get my key back by replacing from the backup, right ?

Didn't found a lot of info on the subject, so now I don't really know what I could do to recover my key.

Is there is a tool to check if the secring.skr that was backuped if not broken ? If it's not broken, how could I recover my private key ?

(even in asc form, if possible to use it with other tools than symantec encryption desktop I would do it, you guess that my private

key was protecting some sensitive mails, and I would like to get them readable again)

Is there is a way to solve that that I may have missed on the support site ?

    Regards

    Pascal
