I am in the process of testing a number of antivirus products.  I would like to know which search engine the Symantec/Norton products use?

if this needs to be in a different place, please let me know.

thanks

VirSCAN

Symantec also owns ThreatExpert, which will analyse suspect files

thanks Brian81,

Not to belabor the point but,  did Symantec build their own engine or did they purchase it from someone else?

The reason for this question is that in looking at many of the different virus protection software products on the market I have found that they either use Kaspersky's engine or BitDefender's engine.

Any more help will be great.  Thanks

I read through the getting started guide.  Good info.

Can anyone tell me if and when the engine and/or Symantec Enterprise will support RedHat Enterprise 6.0?

thanks
