Desktop Email Encryption

  • 1.  SED no install

    Hi Guys,

    I'm trying to install Symantec Encryption Desktop in a Toshinba Portege. After of several minutes appears this message "A newer version of Symantec Encryption Desktop has been detected. To install this version, please uninstall the newer version".

    1. I'm installing the last version 10.3.2 [Build 15238] (PGP SDK 4.2.1 )

    2. This machine not have SED, never it has installed.

    3. I have two Toshiba Portege more of the same model and they  i could to install fine SED in this notebook.

    any idea what might happen..?

    You may want to check the following article:

    It is an issue that should be fixed in 10.3.2 mp1 with Windows 8.1.  On 10.3.2, clicking OK may allow it to finish.  It may be required of you to push OK more than once.  Let me know if that helps.

    that article had already reviewed and does not work. I tried again and again and again and nothing.

    Try with version 10.3.2 mp1 or newer (latest is 10.3.2 mp3, build 15495).  10.3.2 (build 15238) had some issues with this specific error that were resolved in mp1.
