Yes. I know that bitlocker and Safeguard both do the free space.
I wonder too if SEE is looking at free space at the actual drive level (ie, is the bit 0?), or if it's just referring to the NTFS filesystem to determine what is free space.
Tested on Lenovo T400 and T410 laptops which both have 250 GB HD's, and both go about 5% an hour. So... you do the math and it's about 20 hours. Yikes!
And I also ensured that I do NOT have the option turned on to do "double writing" sectors, which claims to take 10 to 20 times longer. Definately don't want that option on.
Using newest Intel Chipset and Mass Storage drivers as well.
Any ideas?
