Hello Everyone, I know this topic has come up before but I'm not finding the solution.  I'm running SEPM 12.1 and the SemSvc is taking a lot of CPU resources - How do you solve it? Thanks

    1. Check the available drive space on the volume that the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager is installed on and verify that there is adequate space available.
    2. Also try stopping and restarting the Symantec Endpoint Protection Service to bring the processes back to their normal state.
    3. After performed the above steps, still the issue has not resolved.
    4. Check the Domains in Manager Console.
    5. If there is any domain listed, which has not been using then delete that domain.
    6. It helps to reduce the CPU usage.

Is SemSvc.EXE is taking 90-100% CPU usage?

It may be due to Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is enabled and causing the Apache service to crash.

    Check this link,

I went ahead and follow the symantec link and I found that I did not have Apache service in DEP at all so, I went ahead and add httd.exe to DEP.  Now I'm going to wait for couple of days to see what happens.  Thank you for your help!  Now, I need to find solutions for the Sonar part of SEPM.  Thanks again.

The space on my drive is filling up but I still have plenty of room.  Currently, the CPU for the SemSvc is about 1-3%.  But I did add the Apache Service to the DEP.  At this point I'm going to watch and see what happens and later on today I'll reboot the the server.  Is this a common issue 12.1?  Thank you for your help!
