semwebsrv service generating a huge traffic

Created: 20 Aug 2013 | 7 comments

I have big problem with this service (semwebsrv) which is Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Webserver.

If I enable this service so it will start generate a huge traffic in my network. I have to keep this service always disabled to save the traffic. But I will not be able to manage the client because Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Webserver will be disabledL.

I need to fix this issue if anyone knows.

Hello,

What OS is the SEPM installed on?

Was the SEPM moved from an older server to this new server OR this is a new install?

Check this Thread with similar issue:

Hope that helps!!

Check the logs in the %programfiles%\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Apache\logs folder and see what is causing the traffic.

Check if the issue is caused by a lot of full.zip downloads. If yes, check why the clients are downloading full.zip and validate if that is ok. If the issue is caused by remote clients, try using GUP.
