Education Enablement Services is developing a Symantec Cloud Security Essentials course that combines the CSA training in order to achieve the CCSK credential & a Symantec Certified Professional (SCP) in Cloud Security credential.

This is an open call for your experiences with reviewing, designing, or implementing security solutions in a cloud environment.  These could come from situations unique to the cloud (ex. compliance issues for systems in a public cloud) - OR - general security solutions addressed in cloud environments (ex. how existing encryption policies were applied to a cloud architecture).

    We need your:
    • Specific examples of security solutions in cloud environments
    • Example cloud architectures – good or bad – implemented by customers
    • Key questions, challenges, and concerns from customers migrating their infrastructure to cloud
    • Recommendations for product synergies (ex. DLP + Encryption)

This information will be used to show real-world, authentic examples of problems, solutions, and architecture throughout the course, and will also be used for developing content for the SCP exam in Cloud Security.

    Hi beverly,

I recently used cluodo.com as free cloudo service , it was nice experience to use the standaon eapplication as web applications. I had read and reserched on cloud service and found that it will provide best and easy services but major concern is security of services and data, I have suggestion that there should be a best validation services for users and integrity of data.further i wil suggest more on this.

    Thanks & Regards

Hello Beverly, my company has recently transitioned to the Google Apps environment and after upper management made the decision and realized there is no solution at the moment to secure our data in google docs nor is there a solution to really monitor emails through google mail. We are currently working with Google to try to reroute traffic through a prevent server but issues are rising out of it.

Our main concern right now is we have nothing to tell us if a user shares a file publicly, or to external users. We also have no solution to run scans and see what PII is actually in our google environment.

We would like to see something that integrates with the Google API such as an integration with Symantec DLP. Right now our current solution is CloudLock but the only thing CloudLock can do is tell us if a document is shared and to whom it is shared and that is it. Also the scans through the Google API by CloudLock is no where near the type of reporting that I see with DLP.

Does Symantec have a road map for the Google Apps environment?

    Thanks,

    Michael Stoltz
