Sending Application Startup Block

All,

I am attempting to send an application startup block to my server. I have done all of the prep work on the application (e.g. open the programs that I want to be part of the starting block), I have deleted the old starting block from the streaming console, and I have run the following command:

AppMgrCmd.exe -sb <paclageGUID>

Every time I run this script I get the following error:

"Sending an application startup block to the server requires an active session for that application."

I am not sure what qualifiies as an "actvie session". I have opened one program and ensured that the session was active and I recevied the same error. I have opened all of the applications and I get the same error.

The only thing that I can think of is that this program is in a streaming layer. I am not sure why that would make a different. Any thoughts?

Sending Application Startup Block

Hi,

I have tested the above said scenario and have found the command to work as expected, and also i was able to reproduce the error that you receive.

• Delete the startup blocks from the streaming console
• Stream the application and launch the application.(Do not remove the application from the Agent Cache)
• Navigated to program files/Symantec/endpoint virtualization/workspace streaming/agent/bin
• Use AppMgrCmd –sb [Package GUID]

I reproduced the error by removing the application from the agent cache and using the command AppMgrCmd -sb [package GUID].

if this is done correctly, and still if you receive the error,

I would like to know,
how you get the GUID for the application?

Please let me know..

Hi trb48,

Are you using Symantec Workspace Streaming?

If so which version of the Streaming?
Would it possible to raise an ticket with Symantec through My support?
So that we could work accordingly and if needed we could also keep you updated on our testing and researchs.

Thank you.
