We have Endpoint Protection 11 and Backup Exec 12 installed on the same server with a Windows Server 2003 platform.  Will this cause the 2 products to compete for system resources?  When LiveUpdate is run for BEWS 12, it also runs for SEP 11.  Is there a way to specify which product should be updated?

I have the same question.  I have Backup Exec installed on servers with SEP client and I would like Liveupdate to continually keep my defs up to date but it is also checking Backup Exec and it stops the SQL Agent service when it finds an update and throws off my SQL processes.

Older versions of Liveupdate did not check all products at once, I do like the feature of checking all at once but always prefer to have control over if it does this or not.

Justin,

Try going into Tools > Options > Live Update and turn off the automatic BE update. Then, go to Control Panel > Live Update and turn BE off of automative/express to interactive. That should prevent it from continually updating BE when it updates SEP.
