  • 1.  SEP 11 Client Deployment issue

Hi all.  I was wondering if anybody has run into this when trying to deploy a SEP client to a PC using the Migration and Deployment Wizard from the SEP manager start menu program group.

For background, this is a lone SEP Manager on a Win2003 server.  The PC's are all XP and Vista.  The client always deploys and works however on one particular system, every time I get to the screen where you pick the target clients, I first get this popup box:

    SEP-ClientDep.jpg

So I click Ok and this item is added to the list of target PC's.  The problem is that it comes up every single time I use this wizard.  I've confiemd the client deploys and works on the PC in question.

In terms of troubleshooting, I've manually uninstalled the SEP software fromt he PC itself and rebooted it, then re-ran this wizard but same results.

This is a domain environment - this particular PC is Vista with only SP1.

    Please help! :)

Sorry, this was my first try at image insertion.  I'll see if I can fix it.

Make sure User Access Control ( UAC )is Disabled
Try running the install locally if deployment was successful then it would have copied setup.exe to C:\Temp\Clt-Inst
If UAC would have blocked then you will only see vpremote.exe in this location.

Also try reboot the vista machine before and after any install attempt

Thanks for the info.  What's unfortunate is that I did fix the issue a couple of weeks ago but now I can't remember what I did to fix it, whether it was something to do with one of the options in the client prep info or something else!  Hopefully I won't run into this again but we'll see.  Thank you again though, I didn't know about the Network Discovery enable requirement for Vista.
