We are evaluating the SEP 11 platform and are testing policies and seeing some very particular behavior.  We are testing one specific policy.  Under the Location specific settings in the Client User Interface Settings, we want to block the users from being able to disable the AV.  So we uncheck the appropriate box.  Some users and devices seem to receive this policy and when the user right clicks the system tray icon, the disable option is greyed out...  Some users, though still have the option available to them and they can disable the AV!!

    Any thoughts?

policies are applied to groups, make sure that you have applied this policy to all the groups.

How to block a user's ability to disable Symantec Endpoint Protection on Clients

make sure u have NTP installed. check if  both the clients reside in same group, check if thats communicating with the manager to update the policy.

Found it....  For whatever reason the config for the AV disable protection and the Proactive Threat disable in two completely different locations!!  Just took us a bit of poking around to find it...

I think that we are good on this score!!smiley
