  • 1.  Sep 11 MP2 GUPS reporting false

    Hi Guys,

             I am having a problem with GUP not reporting as true. This started when i upgraded to RU7 MP2 from RU7 to solve another problem i was facing. Does any one have an idea on why the GUPs will report as false. Just to note everything is one mp2 apart from one gup that is on RU5 which should not be a problem.

    Hi,

    1. Log in to SEPM, go to client group where the GUP client is in. Add a sub-group.

    2. Move the GUP client to the sub-group.

    3. Check off the inherit checkbox for the sub-group, configure the “communication setting” to be in pull mode and put a short-time heartbeat there, maybe 5 mins.

    4. if have more GUP clients, repeat 1-3.

    If above suggested steps not helped then create a case with Symantec & PM me  the case number.

    The behavior that you are seeing sounds like a issue specific to RU7 MP2 regarding the GUP list being purged at midnight. Below is documentation regarding this. This is assuming that when you said you upgraded to RU7 MP2 you ment the SEPM and not just the client as this is a SEPM side issue.

    My recommendation would be to call into support and open a support case describing your issue and reference this KB.

                   Thanks for the info i lowered the heart beat from 4 hours to 5min. Also i have an open case with symantec they techs i all spoke to never mention this article and constantly asked to check setting. Anyway the ticket # 418-812-749

    I think this may narrow my problem down. I moved all the clients into a new group with a shortend heart beat. They report true with the new policy all the way until 1:30 or 2oclock hit every single gup changed to false. When i looked in the original group were the gups are located the ones that were true became false.

    Hello,

    Is there a Location created which is making this issue.

    Make sure you have the Default Location only within the group.

    Check if that helps!!

    There were several facators at play here. One being a location policy that needed to be edit. Also we just decieded to upgrade our invironment to help fit other issues we are seeing.
