This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have several users complaining that whenever they open their email (with or without attachment) they are getting an error about reference to memory cannot be read. I understand there are some known issues between sep 11 and outlook 2007 which were address in the MR1 and MR2 releases. However these fixes appear to be related to emails with attachments only. I have this problem randomly with and without attachments.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Not sure if it will fix your problem but could you try to delete/rename outlook's "extend.dat" on the problem computers and then starting outlook again?

the file is somewhere under "application data\microsoft\outlook\"
