This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello Team,
I am attempting to find our exactly how many clients we currently, as of right now, have the SEP client installed on.
In the SEPM console, under reports, I choose,
Report Type: "Computer Status"
Selected a report: "Client inventory"
Use a saved filer: "default"

and time range: Past 24 hours.

Here's the question:

I always receive a higher number of clients when I choose Time Range; Past Week, Past Month, or Past Year (being the highest client count) So which is showing the correct count?

Is the 24 hours time range stating TOTAL NUMBER OF CLIENTS in SEPM in all? or are these just the ones that have checked into the server?

What accounts for the higher number as we go back in time? Is it reporting clients who were once a part of SEPM but have either lost communication and have dropped off?

What is the best way to obtain an accurate number of clients in my SEP Network?
(Besides manually counting them)

Thanks,

 last 24 hours means Clients

last 24 hours means Clients Checked in to SEPM in last 24 hours.

Best way would be either

Quick Reports

Report Type: "Computer Status"
Selected a report: "Client Count by Group"
Use a saved filer: "default"

or

Report Type: "Computer Status"
Selected a report: "Symantec Endpoint Protection product Versions"
Use a saved filer: "default"

Two Good Articles

Hi Tommy,

Here are a couple articles that may also help explain the purpose of the different SEPM reports:

About the different types of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Reports

About Computer Status reports and logs

Thanks and best regards,
