  • 1.  From SEP 11 to SEP Small Business 12

    Hello,

We are currently using Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 and would like to upgrade to Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business 12 (due to speed, simplicity, new features & etc.).

Is there a possibility to migrate, or I should do a full uninstall and then install SEP SB ?

I'd like to install a trial, and make sure it works faster than SEP 11 before purchasing the licenses.

Is there any guideline on the above procedure?

    Thank you very much,
    Djordje

    Hello,

Regarding your question you Cannot migrate from Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11.x to Symantec Protection Center 12.0.

    http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-...

You would need to uninstall the Endpoint 11.0 and have a new install for the Endpoint protection 12.0. Just to inform you Endpoint Protection 11.0 is a different product from the 12.0 version.

    Kind Regards,
    Edz

You will have ot uninstall the SEPM and install SPC (Symantec Protection Centre Console). Please note that the SEP 11 clients cannot be managed by SEP12, However you may upgrade the clients, that is you do not need to uninstall and reinstall, you can push out the new client packages, by email link, directly (like in sep 11) or create a package and run the setup for the clients.

Thank you very much for that extraordinarily first class editorial! Very creative, one of the nicer sites I have seen today. Keep up the great work.
