  • 1.  SEP 11 on Server 2008 - shares staying online?

    Posted Sep 14, 2009 10:03 PM
    Hi All

I know there was a previous issue with SEP 11 on Windows 2008 whereby after a variable amount of time the shares would go offline and the only way to get them back was to reboot the server, this was acknowledged by Symantec and is supposed to have been fixed in the latest release.  So can everyone confirm they have SEP 11 running on their 2008 file servers without any share dropping issues?

    Cheers
    Stew

    Hi,

The issue with the network shares has been resolved in the latest release. Its always recommended to install only AV/AS features on a server OS.

Had this issue on multiple sites, and can confirm it is no longer an issue with the latest release. Updated at least 15 2008 Servers to date.

I think this was fixed in MR4 or around MR4 MP2.  MR5 is the latest and greatest.

Fixed in RU5?  They said it was fixed in MR4 and maybe even before that.  Not to mention so called support for 2008 server before that.

I won't be installing it on my file servers ever again.  it can't be trusted.
