Hi,

I have problems installing sep11 on windows 2008 r2. After SEP installation cluster node stops working. I heard that SEP locks quorum disk.

I found this:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH91154&profileURL=https%3A%2F%2Fsymaccount-profile.symantec.com%2FSSO%2Findex.jsp%3FssoID%3D1353914242208rL5Big8oqML2Mr107oeROk49B7kz32kOAT29X

But it does not say how to avoid locking quorum drive. How could I avoid this. How and where to create exception that symantec totally ignore quorum disk?

thanks

hi,

it is sep11 standalone install, but strange things happen on cluster, as it locks the drive and cluster fails, is any solution for this. NTP was uninstalled.

thanks

HI,

Did you check my above attach artical

What scan exclusions should be applied to all Windows clustered server nodes

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH105581.

As per Microsoft KB 309422

If you are running antivirus software on a cluster, make sure that you exclude these locations from virus scanning:

  • Q:\ (Quorum drive)
  • C:\Windows\Cluster
  • If you are running SQL Server you should refer to the additional recommendations as outlined in the Microsoft KB

Try by creating scanning exclusions for

  • Q:\ (Quorum drive)
  • C:\Windows\Cluster

Below KB can help you for creating exclusions.
