  • 1.  SEP 11.0 - SNAC is being installed when it wasn't selected

Why would SNAC be installed even though I did not choose the option for it during the SEP client installation?  This is causing unnecessary overhead by adding an additional Network Provider to the top of the Network Provider Order, as well as loading additional services.  I double-checked Add/Remove Programs, and only AntiVirus/AntiSpyware and Proactive Threat Scan are shown as installed.

Is there a workaround to properly remove SNAC while maintaining proper operation of AntiVirus/AntiSpyware and Proactive Threat Scan?

    Thank you,
    Eric

When you say that SNAC is being installed when you dont select it can you be more specific? Are you just seeing it in the interface? What CD did you install from? SNAC is available in the client always but the license file must be enabled on the SEPM console for it to be visible in the client.

For starters it is installed as a couple system services (SNAC, SnacNp) under HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services as well as in the network provider order.
