Make sure you are installing SEP 11.0.5000 or above latest one is 11.0.6100.xx

Post the 10 lines above the return value 3 from SEP_INST.log from %temp%\SEP_INST.log

Most common reason for failure would be

Solution

In the registry,

Find

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\AppData
value=%APPDATA%

and change it to

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\AppData
value=%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming

Install SEP client again.

First thing, I would do is check the application event logs. This will give you some good information. To start the event viwer - Start>Run>EventVwr

From there, there might already be a reboot pending.

Check this KB for info:

Try this,

Uninstall SEP and Liveupdate.

Install Liveupdate only from the SEP CD (Lusetup.exe)

Then install SEP

Right Click package and "run as administrator".  Also make sure SEP is 11.0.5 or above.
