I'm install SEP and after connect to manager console saw all chars blank.

You're currently viewing the Home page where various statistics will showup once you've added clients and having them send logs or alerts.

To view the information on the Home page, Monitors page, and Reports page in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console when using Internet Explorer, you must have some minimum Internet Options settings enabled. Click "Custom Level" on the Security tab of the Tools > Internet Options menu to find these settings.

The following settings must be enabled when using Internet Explorer 6:

- Under ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe

- Under Miscellaneous: Submit nonencrypted form data

- Under Miscellaneous: User data persistence

- Under Scripting: Active scripting

The following settings must be enabled when using Internet Explorer 7:

- Under Miscellaneous: Submit non-encrypted form data

- Under Scripting: Active Scripting

- Under Scripting: Allow status bar updates via script

I installed the SEPM 11.0 on a Windows 2008 64-bit and everything looks normal on the main screen. Have you tried rebooting the computer? Perhaps the install of SEPM did not install correctly. You might want to uninstall the Policy Manager and reinstall again. There might be a clue in the install log. For the Policy Manager, I believe the log is called SEPM_INST.log. There is also a support tool available that might help. The tool is run on the OS and is kind of like a pre-installation tool. It will tell you if anything is missing, although I have not tried to run the support tool on a Windows 2008 Server yet. Oh, one other thing...the System and Application event logs might provide some clues as well.

Are you connecting from a remote computer? Or you are logging in on the SEPM Server itself. Please describe scenario.

As the document suggests, please remove all other Java versions that are currently installed and install only the recommended versions of Java 1.6 Update 7 or Java 1.5 Update 15.
