  • 1.  SEP 11.0.5 Client (Change Managemenet Server)

    Hey all,

We have a group of SEP 11.0.5 clients installed talking to a server; I am looking to change these over to point to a different server. Newer server in a different location.
When I attempt deploy the newer client over already installed 11.0 it will not update the client to the new settings. The clients continue to talk to the older server.

The only way I could get around this was to manually uninstall the already installed client and re-deploy.

Is there an easier way to correct this? Someway I could do this automatically? Script?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to add the management server list for your list, put your second server as priority 1, once the info is passed on they all will report to your new server, follow this document from top to bottom :)

Creating and assigning a management server list for a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

Option 2 would be to create a custom install setting with reset client server communication

How to restore/retain client-server communication using custom installation settings without having to use the sylink drop tool.

use option 2 only if option 1 fails.

    Perfect -
Option 2 is exactly what I was looking for, as we are not ready to push all the older clients over - but a few at a time to a Managemenet server located over our WAN.

    Thanks for your help.
