SEP 11.0.6200.754 taking over windows 7 firewall?
Updated: 06 Apr 2011 | 12 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I can't figure this out, we only have installed AV/Antispyware and it keeps saying that Symantec is managing the firewall and has turned it off.
How do we fix this?? Even after installing Win7 SP1, it still keeps doing this!
thanks,

Even though you only have AV installed, do you have a firewall policy in place on this group. Try withdrawing and see what happens.

Note about Windows 7 SP1
Hi Rshah,
To confirm: RU6 MP3 should fix the behavior you are describing. Just an additional note: you mention that you are using Win7 SP1. Be aware that Symantec Endpoint Protection has been certified for Windows 7, but extensive test suites have not yet been completed on this latest Service Pack. Please see Support for Symantec Endpoint Protection on Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH154768)
I know of no reason why SP1 for Windows 7 would cause any problems, but it is not yet officially certified with SEP 11.
Thanks and bets regards,
