SEP 12 RU4: Configure LiveUpdate Proxy Settings on SEPM

Created: 10 Dec 2013 • Updated: 10 Dec 2013 | 3 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

Many users at remote branches go to Start > Control Panel > LiveUpdate > and then set proxy settings in order to receive LiveUpdate definitions.

How can I set this at the SEP Management Console so that the policy is pushed out to the user? That way, users don't have to set the LiveUpdate proxy at their workstations.

Clients >> Policies tab >> External Communications Settings

On the Proxy Server (Windows) tab is where you can set it

Err, I disagree. As far as I know, the LiveUpdate proxy settings are configured here:

Clients > [Group] > Policies tab > LiveUpdate policy > server settings >
LiveUpdate Proxy configurations

Not sure if this is the perfect wording because I don't have access to an english SEPM console for the time being.

The External communication settings do not affect LiveUpdate. They are especially intended for things like Insight Lookup.

Greg,

I implemented this policy on one of our sites, and will let you know how it works.
