  • 1.  SEP 12 RU4 Mac - LiveUpdate error - Proxy server not reachable or Authentication failed

    I created SEP 12 RU4 package for Mac (Maverick) OS. When I run LiveUpdate I get following

     

    "An error occurred Proxy server not reachable or Authentication failed."

     

    When I check status, it shows the following

     

    License Status: SEP License Valid

    Policy Serial #: 76ED-10/24/2013 14:30:27 491

    SEPM Server:

    Location: Default-Group Off Line

     

    How to fix?

    Are you going thru proxy? Have you tried adding in credentials?

    Hello,

    Are you using Barracuda Web Filter?  Proxy authentication is not compatible with the Barracuda Web Filter while running in transparent mode.

    Secondly, check this Article:

    It turns out that SEP was reinstalled on top of a previous install and it had old configuration settings.

     

    I ran Symantec Uninstaller and then installed SEP.
