This issue has been solved. See solution.

Trying to find a way to install sep12 on ts 2003. I've tried several different configs but it slows down terminal server extremely. Do you know any step by step instructions for not slowing down terminal server?

Resources,

with sep 12: approx 6gb memory in use

without sep 12: approx 2gb memory in use

with sep 11: 3.5 gb memory in use

hi

what proces using the CPU.

install just Antivirus and Antispyware; Do not install Network threat component

With SEP 12.1. You should not face any performance issues;

Try changing the following

Try changing the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC\LaunchSmcGui = 0

You may have to disable tamper protection to change this in SEP12, and it will most likely need a reboot to take effect (and kill the user instances).

Unfortunately, i couldn't find a way to edit registry keys while it's running. and there is no way to stop it probably. How can i kill sep 12 client? i don't want to uninstall and reboot server.

hi

stop the service and try editing it

start -run

type smc-stop

you need to create the value  if it does not exist.

you will need to temporarily

you will need to temporarily disable tamper protection to change the registry key - once it has been changed you can re-enable tamper protection.

smc-stop? are you mentioning

smc-stop? are you mentioning "net stop smcservice" ? if so, that's not working either.

smc -stop

smc -stop is used to stop allow you to stop symantec from working  trying to shutdown the individual services will not work as we since tamper protection will likely prevent this.
