This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have installed SEP 12.0 MC on a Windows 2008 x64 Dell server.  After reboot, any attempt to use IE or view network properties causes the server to freeze.  Any ideas how to resolve this?

Are you seeing any errors in the event viewer? Try running the SEP support tool, and let us know if any errors are showing up there.

Had to completely reformat

Had to completely reformat and reinstall Server 2008.  Reinstalled SEP and support tool.  Restarted.  The network system tray icon shows a red X.  Tried to run support  tool  - it would not even start up.  Entire system pretty much useless when SEP is installed.  This product is simply unusable in a server 2008 environment.  In fact, the licensing site does not even list server 2008 as an allowable platform.

I'm going to use some other product.  It is absurd and ridiculous to have to completely reinstall every time I try SEP.

And ,no - cannot uninstall the products.  Freezes and requires hard power off restart.

Well, I finally located the

Well, I finally located the problem.  It was not SEP at all, but was the removal of IPv6 from the network protocols.  That causes the DHCP Server service to hang in the "stopping" state, thereby effectively crippling any activity.  Once I figured that out, I was able to install SEP 12.0 MC and client with no errors whatever.

My humblest apologies.
