    Hello,

While SEP 12.1 cannot be installed on this unsupported Windows 2000 OS, Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 can successfully protect Windows 2000 computers until they have been retired from the organization.

For such circumstances, a legacy SEP 11 client is included in the SEP 12.1 DVD .iso. ("SAVLegacy32.dat" in SEPM\AdditionalPackages)

SEP 11 clients can successfully be managed by a SEP 12.1 Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM).  A sylink.xml file from the desired SEP 12.1 client group can be imported ("dropped" or "replaced") on the SEP 11 client, enabling it to receive policies, definitions and other necessary communications from the SEPM.

For full details, please see the articles referenced below.

    Agree with above comments.

The SEP 12.1 is not compatible with Windows 2000. If you have machines running windows 2000, it is recommended that the package version 11.x is left installed, where it is still possible to control these SEP 11.x clients from the new SEPM console. If you have already uninstalled then you can use the link provided in the above comment to import the 11.x client package on SEPM 12.1 and proceed.
