SEP 12.1 Cannot create 32bit install package

  • 1.  SEP 12.1 Cannot create 32bit install package

    Posted Feb 13, 2015 09:38 AM

I'm trying to create a 32bit unmanaged install package for a computer. My method of doing this is exporting the already installed client package, under "Admin" > "Install Packages" and then just making the correct settigns as in the picture named "settings". Even though I selected it to be an exe file, it takes about 40 minutes and only finishes with the items listed in the picture "fileitems". Even if I try to send the package with these contents, the PC either errors out with "interactive Services Detection" (see "symantecerror" picture) or SEP just shows a red X next to the client PC when trying to send the package to.

Is it 32bit that is having an issue or am I missing something?

Have you tried a repair of the SEPM?

Also, the unmanaged client is already available on the download ISO.

    This is know issue

You can upgrade sepm 12.1.5 or you can find SEP client package on file connect.

Export of client package from SEPM never finishes
    Fix ID: 2627397
Symptom: Export of a client package from SEPM does not complete on non-English Windows, when SEPM is configured to use the embedded database.
Solution: SEPM was modified to use a different database method to obtain binary stream data.

I'm not even sure where to find it. I would have to look since I wasn't the one that did this installation.

The downloads are for 12.1.5. All my clients are 12.1 SO I'm guessing this will require an upgrade?

No. SEPM 12.1 will manage any all versions of 12.1

Best practice says to have both clients and SEPM on same version but not required.

Currently you need to install unmanaged SEP Client. You can only SEP client package.

But We suggest you can upgrade your SEPM 12.1.5.

So you download unmanaged SEP package from file connect.
