Hi

Just put in a brand news 2008 R2 Windows Server. SEPM went on fine, pushed out the client to the PC's with no prioblem. Pushed out client to the host server and although the console states the installation went through SEP does not display in Programs and Features nor in Program files.

Tried installing an unmanaged client and get teh same result, install completes successfully but client still not installed.

Server has been rebooted

Server has been rebooted multiple times, the console is now showing the server as offline (hasn't even shown the server name until now). The installation log shows a date of 14/11/12 as the last time modified despite serveral more attempts to install.

Renamed the installation log

Renamed the installation log file and tried to push out again.

Now I am seeing the server being reported as online in the console, nothing is reporting but it says Online however SEP
is still not installed, new install log attached.

Hi, Are you trying to deploy

Hi,

Are you trying to deploy through which method? Using client deployment wizard or any other third party tools?

The problem you have mentioned is with specific operating system or across all the platform?

According to logs I couldn't find any specific error.

Export a new package & try to deploy again.

Just for curiosity why you didn't install latest SEP version on brand new server?

Tried deploying via the

Tried deploying via the console as managed and even installing locally as an unmanged clien both tell me they have been successful but Client is nowhere to be seen.

There are 3 x Widnows 7 PC's and 2 x XP PC's. The client has installed perfectly on all PC's and they are reporting back the only issue is the instllation of the client to the server which is a 2008 R2 server.

We've installed this version as this is what the client owned.

Hi, Could you please pass on

Hi,

Could you please pass on Sep support tool (SST) logs.

Attached logs are not giving any fruitful information to me. I hope you would have tired to install SEP by disabling UAC & Windows defender, If possible disable enhanced security prior  to SEP deployment.

Here is the location of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Support Tool:

Here is the SST log you asked

Here is the SST log you asked for, in the mean time I am downloading the latest version of SEPM, may take a while as the client only has a 2mb Internet connection!

Once downloaded I will try to deploy again and post the results

OK, downloaded & installed

OK, downloaded & installed latest version of SEPM.

Tried to open the console and got error: 0x10010000

Updated JAVA to the latest version but the console still fails to open with the same 0x error. Found the following thread:https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/sepm-remote-console-0x10010000-error#comment-7266741

Can gain access via remote console, pushed out a client install to the server which once again reports as a success, and.... the client has actually installed and is reporting back to the console!

After accessing the remote console the 0x error has been resolved.

Thanks for your help on this Chetan.

Hi,

Thanks for the update.

I had to share analysis with you about SST logs.

According to SST logs no specific conflict/error was listed only reboot was pending to remove 356 files from temp directory.
