    Hi,

Repair SEP client through add/remove programs.

Make sure GUP is accessible through ping, telnet commands (port- 2967).

hi there, doubtful about repair, as it is all the Clients in this specific Group

    Can ping the GUP

Even the Green dot displays in the SEP Manager for these clients, also their Policy number shows as current compared to the SEPM

i will  try and enable logging.. clients in different country with slow link

i think av definitions files might have gotten corrupt on this specific GUP or even the clients..

is there a way to clear old definitions and refresh?

all other commnunication tests seems to be successful, even used Sylink Replacer on a couple of machines to replace sylink, and ran Update Content after that... no changes..

that's why i'm wondering if deinitions are corrupt?

    Hi,

First identify whether definitions are reallly corrupted or not.

Check this article: How to determine if virus definitions of Symantec Endpoint Protection client (SEP) 11 or 12 Small Business Edition, are corrupted

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH97677

How to clear out corrupted definitions for a Symantec Endpoint Protection Client manuall

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH103176&locale=en_US

    OR

In some instances, Symantec Technical Support may recommend the use of an unsupported tool that automates the removal of corrupted SEP definitions. For details please see Using the "Rx4DefsSEP" utility at

Please open the 2967 port in Symantec GUP (Group Update Provider) server for client machines to take the update.

    1. you need to check that GUP is in the same subnet of clients.

    2. Port 2967 should be open from GUP to clients.

    3. test the telnet connectivity from GUP to any client.
