SEP 12.1 Daily active scan freezes at "starting"

Powered up W7 x64 laptop after 10 days off.
Daily scan starts but is stuck at "starting" since more than 2 hours.
SEP 12.1 RU1. Anyone else seen this?

would be interesting to know if anyone else has seen this and if there is anything that can be done to identify the issue in case it occurs on a broader scale.
had this on another 12.1 RU1 client.
Apparently this may be fixed in RU1 MP1, but difficult to be sure as the issue cannot be reproduced, occurring rarely and randomly.
