As on SEP 11.x or 12.x is not
As on SEP 11.x or 12.x is not available for linux but you can use Symantec Antivirus for Linux with above system requirement provided by Pete.

Symantec AntiVirus for Linux 1.0.10 located in the SEP 12.1 does support OEL 4.8
I would suggest you to check the "readme.txt" file Located in the DVD downloaded from the fileconnect.
...Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1_Full_EN\SAVLINUX
It states : Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.8

The advice above should get that OEL box protected. &: )
While SAVFL clients cannot be directly managed by a SEP 12.1 SEPM, it is possibel for those Linux machines to forward logs for inclusion in the SEPM's reports, notifications, alerts etc. These links have more information:
