  • 1.  SEP 12.1 Manager - Push only to clients without SEP

    Posted Jun 05, 2013 03:14 AM

Simple enough I hope. I have about half the PCs deployed to, some were off, some didn't want to at the time (Manager's PCs and such) just in case. How do I deploy to just the clients via the Push method that don't have the client already?

you can select the IP range or list the computers to push the client package.

    Hi,

You can use Remote Push method: Remote Push performs the following actions:

Selects an existing client installation package or creates a new installation package.

For new installation packages, configures package deployment settings.

Locates the computers on your network.

Remote Push locates either specific computers for which you provide an IP number or range, or all computers that are visible by browsing the network.

Pushes the client software to the computers that you specify.

The installation automatically begins on the computers once the package is successfully pushed.

Since you have already deployed clients to few machines from SEPM.

the best way would be to first assign an unmanged detector. This would give you a list of machines which do not have SEP. once you find that out. put them in a txt file. one ip per line

then use the migration and deploymenet wizard. import the txt file list. push it out.

Setting notifications when using the "Unmanaged Detector" feature in the SEPM

I know how to deploy via push mate, I said I've already deployed to about half. That's NOT my question.

    Hi Rafeeq

Thanks for actually reading my question.

We've moved from TotalDefense to Symantec - that's at least one thing TD did better was be able to find simply the list of undeployed from it's console and then you could select and deploy to, not text files or mucking around. Maybe something for Symantec to improve upon.
